The Moorings - Saint Lucia

The Moorings are a luxury yacht charter and sailing holiday brand. We had the pleasure of joining them in Saint Lucia to capture all the beauty and adventure a catered package holiday in Saint Lucia can bring.

The film needed to show everything you could expect to see and do while on a charter with The Moorings in Saint Lucia. From time on the water, to snorkelling, hiking the mountains and rum tasting, it was special to say the least.

Conceptualisation & Creative Development

This film really needed to focus in on the experiences that The Moorings can offer you in these luxury destinations. We wanted to make sure that we could showcase as many of the different activities that are on offer as possible, while also of course highlighting the incredible adventure that island hopping via a catamaran is. We wanted the film to have an energy to it that was exciting and aspirational, full of colour and a soundscape that made you feel like you were there, part of the trip. Mixing the natural beauty of Saint Lucia alongside this exciting itinerary, I think we managed to achieve what we were hoping to capture.

Shoot Planning & Storyboarding

The planning for this shoot was done in partnership with the client and 3rd party fixers based in Saint Lucia who know the local area and legislations. Whenever you're filming travel content abroad you always have to be conscious of local laws and permits for access to film in the best locations. Planning for these things should ideally be done at least a couple months in advance to allow for the relevant documents to be returned.

Aside from this, we mapped out as much of a shot list as we could from the itinerary we had. This meant having regular meetings with the client at the end of every shoot day to review what we had shot that day and making a plan for the next day based on what we had left to cover from our shot list. This gave us an efficient way of working and meant that everyone knew what we had to focus on every day of the shoot.
